I haven't seen RENT...always wanted to. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and by the time the play happens I will have about 2 weeks to go. I truely believe that my baby can now hear sounds, feel my emotions...etc. I want her to experience RENT with me. I know it sounds weird, but its true.

I saw the movie Rent, and while it was not the same as an on-stage production, I was very impressed.  The message was amazing - life happens while we're busy doing other stuff, and that other stuff usually isn't all that important as what we will experience if we just open ourselves up to life!  The relationships, the very real portrayals of life in the streets, with drugs and whatever - it was a movie that made me laugh, cry, and think.  Watching a Broadway production of Rent would be one of the most amazing experiences; I have acted/sang on stage at the Jubilee for 7 years now, in an Easter production, and nothing can compare to the experience of being there.  I would love to win the tickets because I have never seen a Broadway production.

I'm gonna try and win tickets to opening night here so I'd like to tell you how RENT affected my life.
The first time I saw it, I was reeling from the awesome-ness. I loved the relationships that this group of friends had with each other. No matter what hurdle was thrown at them, they always had each other's back. Granted, there was a rift, but they still understood that they had something special and they shouldn't let it go.
Maureen is my favourite character. She's so out there and bold and exactly they type of person everyone wishes they could be. She's fearless.
The message of RENT stuck with me. "No Day But Today"..... is how I want to live my life. I want to be fearless, appreciative of the present, understanding of the fact that TODAY can change your life. Things end, things begin....TODAY. Enjoy Today. Hate Today. Just remember that there's no day as important/meaningful as TODAY.
That quote changed my life. I have it tattooed on my thigh.

I guess I should throw in how the soundtrack has absolutely floored me... it is beautifully arranged and sung.... I kid you not, I listen to at least a song or two EVERY day. This has been going on for years!
RENT is amazing. It amazed me. It had a huge impact on the way I live my life.
:)
